High 5s: Get Your Feet Wet
Written by Trippe

I purchased one of the first digital cameras when Fecal Face went online in 2000. It was a massive Kodak with 2 mega pixels.

After taking someone's photo, you'd turn it over to show them the image on it's tiny 1" display. People were flabergasted. You could delete an image and take another without "wasting film"... That blew peoples' minds.

Well, these days everyone's little black monolith does it all including shooting decent photos in a variety of styles... Oh how things have changed since 2000 when Fecal Face went online --> these days we've been lying low waiting for things to change, and here's some random photographic proof from the life of a galleriest living and working in the City by the Bay.

Crazy couple of months. The old man died, and I got to see 3 great friends get married. Some go, and some arrive. Tis life's swings in visual forms.

Angelic Island on America's Birthday

For the 4th we sailed over to Angel Island, spent a few days enjoying the hot Marin air, BBQing it up w/ friends, and watching the fireworks from it... A warm clear evening and you could view both of San Francisco's fireworks and also Sausalito's as well... That is a damn fine island.

Two boats are better than one for an overnight.

Walk back to the boats and drink more wine.

Best spot to view San Francisco's duel fireworks show.

Ok, so we "know" there are no Brown Recluses in California, but shit, it looked like one to us... Found in the folk's house in Marin on the bathroom floor on Saturday. Argh.

Oops. Looks like our drunk cabby's vodka bottle slipped out... Think he needed a cab more than we did. Bummer.

New boat with more stretch out room.

Just got back to SF after a little trip south to Sayulita, Mexico. After 10 years without a vacation, me and the Mrs. headed south for some mental time off sitting in the sun, swimming and enjoying the watery Mexican beer. Here are some photos as we get back into the swing of things again.

Highly recommend spending a little more for your own private pool.

Friends got married, saved some jokers from wrecking their boat on Alcatraz, our Winter Group Show @FFDG, stayed at the incredible beach front cabins at Mt. Tam State Park, and spent time on the water.

Blog in pictorial format

Incredible views at the Mt. Tam cabins

Congrats, Stefan and Jessie!

No motor and no radio when there's no wind during a huge tide? Not a smart move.

Fecal Face has been in exsistence since the year 2000. Ever since then, High 5s, a photo-ish blog, has been thrown up about every 2 weeks. Here is another one.

Ya, the Navy left some radioactive materials after cleaning up boats exposed to radiation.

The warm San Francisco days and nights seem to be coming to an end. World Series champs and everything is alright in the world once again as we head into the dark, cool and rainy winter months. Time to hibernate and move cautiously around with blinkies on our bikes. Can't believe the Holidays are just about here.

As we approach the anniversary of the fire, we're looking forward to settling. Crazy month or so with family emergencies and trips to the homeland. Also some visual randomness thrown in for good measure.

High 5s: Camping on Angel Island
Written by Trippe
Thursday, 21 June 2012 11:33

Summer's officially here, although with highs topping out at 57 this week in SF, it doesn't feel like it... In any case, we were able to score a super hot weekend recently and decided to camp on Angel Island in the middle of the San Francisco Bay. Incredible views, the island practically to yourselves, and its close proximity to the city make it one of the best and easy camping trips you can have. Here's a lil' photo essay.

I declare Angel Island as the best beering destination... On the very hot days, swimming is required.

2.5 mile hike to our camp. Not bad. Travel light. Strong beer/ wine suggested. If hard booze your thing, do it. Watery beer best left at home.

Drinking wine, BBQing food with solid views.

Misc imagery as we continue the settling process here at Fecal Face. Who knew a fire and a medical issue could upset so much in so much time.

High 5s: Quickest Trip to LA Ever
Written by Trippe
Tuesday, 01 November 2011 14:55

Had to drive to LA last Saturday and drive back to SF on Sunday. A hectic short trip, but we got to hang out with the wonderful Mel Kadel & Travis Millard. We had ourselves a little look-see at their Echo Park home/ studio before the 6 hour drive back home.

Bonus: Past homes of Bukowski & Ernest Hemingway and where the Hillside Killer dumped bodies.

Had a crazy ass summer/ fall. The building our new apartment is now for sale. My wife is getting surgery to get a tumor taken out of her head/ neck. The building FFDG was in caught fire and it remains unclear how long till it's repaired... No worries though. FFDG has a temporary home. We have health insurance and business insurance (insurance is a good thing). SF is experiencing summer, finally. My cat is fluffy. The Fecal Face softball team is playing better (our record is 0-8). The Tigers are still in it (barely). The Mario Martinez (Mars-1) show opening Nov 10th at FFDG is still on track (note: it'll be at the temp space- 248 Clement). Got our taxes done in time. The art season is back on with lots of great shows to check out here in San Francisco and many more to enjoy online...
